Koppers Fishing and Tackle Corp., makers of LIVETARGET Life-Like Lures, has recently launched their new Saltwater Series of premium hard baits.

The new Saltwater Series represents an evolutionary step in the way saltwater lures are built and painted. From unique fuselages that give accurate profiles with light catching surfaces, to multi-layered paint processes, these lures surpass ‘imitation’ and provide anglers with precise saltwater live bait replication.
Lead Designer and Partner Victor Cook states, “We can’t tell you how excited we are to introduce this full range of saltwater lures to the global marketplace. The saltwater line compliments our freshwater products with the same premium and life-like standards that have become synonymous with the LIVETARGET brand.”

Introduced in 7 species, Spanish Mackerel, Mullet, Spanish Sardine, Scaled Sardine, Pinfish, Blueback Herring and Menhaden, the line-up has a lure for every angler. Inshore and near shore anglers will enjoy the full variety of tools available, which include: crankbaits, twitchbaits, wakebaits, lipless rattlebaits, jerkbaits, swimbaits, and topwater baits.

These baits truly look real! The detail that Koppers went into with these baits is amazing. From missing scales to different finishes for water clarity and sun exposure, they have truly though of and executed on everything! http://www.koppersfishing.com/index.php

CharkBait Metal Swimmer and Metal Slider Lures

I’m the kind of guy that loves to fish with live bait, but whenever I can’t cast-net bait, I’ll throw on a lure. I’ve had some success now and again pitching lures, but my success went to a new level when I tied on one of the new lures from CharkBait. I attribute my new-found success to the fact that they swim like my live bait and even look like it. And, they don’t die in the live well or bucket! Lastly, I loved how they maintained their good looks, hit after hit - not much scratching or chipping, at all.

CharkBait’s newest series of lures are based upon familiar products from the past. But, the innovative anglers at CharkBait have made some significant improvements in both design and features.

All lures come with both single and treble hooks made by Mustad (3X strength). The lures are also clear coated four times for durability of finish. All the lures feature solid-welded rings at the nose and high-strength split rings at the rear. The new lures also make use of a luminescent belly to entice more deep-water attention from targeted fish.

There are two new styles of lure, the Metal Swimmer that has a gently curved back that gives the lure a flutter on the drop, and the Metal Slider that features a straight back. Both can be used on the “slide,” jigged vertically, or as a cast and retrieve lure.

Check out the new lures by visiting their website at www.CHARKBAIT.com or cruise into their shops in Huntington Beach and San Diego, California.

Ever wished you could make your DOA CAL or other soft plastic bait into a topwater popper? Now you can, thanks to this clever addition to your tackle box by DOA Lures. The scooped face and sprawled pectoral fins keep your jerk baits on the surface for an enticing, popping and spitting presentation.

The Chug Head isn’t designed to make your soft plastics float, but the baits we fished without a weighted hook sunk very slowly. Any action of the rod drove the Chug Head and its realistic eyes back to the surface for more attention-getting commotion.

All you do is slide the Chug Head over the front of your favorite CAL lure, then rig it “worm style” right through the head with one of DOA’s Long Neck hooks. Now you’re ready to “chug it” right through and over the heaviest cover!

Chug Heads come in a variety of great colors including favorites like Night Glow, Red glitter/Chartreuse, and all Red. Definitely one of the coolest additions to my shallow-water tackle box this year.
