In the last issue of GAFF Magazine (Nov./Dec.), in the Braggin' Rights section, (upper left on page 14 to be exact), you may recall a picture of Louie holding a big ol' monster bass. Well here is the story behind that fish and several others that we got that day on "Lake Heart Attack", late last September. What a day we had!!!

The good Captain Cefus over at Nuts & Bolts Outdoors was kind enough to send Louie & I three little bags of the new, Super Scented, Super-Charged, Super secret, Project X Swim Baits from Whoop Ass Tackle Company. Since Whoop Ass has already carved out it’s well deserved place in the salt-water world, they thought maybe it was time to move in on the fresh-water realm. We didn’t even have to ask to field test these new baits. I suppose that since Louie has been known to catch a bass or two once in a while, and since he is on the Pro Staff at Nuts & Bolts,  he was an obvious choice to try them out on one of our favorite lakes. Well this report comes after a four hour trip this morning to a lake that we like to call “Lake Heart Attack”.

This is what happened this morning.! The very first cast that I made with the "Electric Chicken", produced a real nice hit. Louie was in the process of tying on a hook. After he tied it, he handed it to me and asked me to test his knot. I set my pole on my lap, my line still in the water, the "Chicken" resting on the bottom about four feet down next to the boat. Suddenly the bass in the photo below picked up my Project X swim bait off the bottom and came very close to pulling my pole right off of my lap and right out of the SS LOUIE. Capt. Cefus, I don’t know what secret formula you guys put in these things, but it’s pretty awesome when you just throw em out and don’t even have to work em!

Well they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so from here I’m just going to let the rest of these photos from this morning do the talking.

Louie said these things worked so well, he thought he’d like to try one to see for himself, what all the fuss was about!

All Louie and I can say at this point is "Move over Berkley, move over Trigger X, cause Whoop Ass Project X is in the house!” These things are awesome!

By the way, that last fish weighed in at a healthy, hefty 12.9 pounds.

Note: All fish pictured in this report were released unharmed, with maybe the exception of some sore lips.
