Louie had the day off from school today, so I switched my days off from this Friday to today, and we figured what better way to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day than to head to Lake Charlotte and go fishing. So we loaded up the SS LOUIE and off we went in the wee hours this morning. As Louie dug around in his GAFF tackle box, (he keeps his top secret stuff in there), he decided early on that his weapon of choice today was going to be his Blue Fox, in-line spinner.

I know it doesn’t look like much, and it’s seen better days, but I’m here to tell you folks, this thing catches fish, and today was no exception.
To put it bluntly, he absolutely kicked my butt with it. I was throwing my old trusty 6” Rapala, which usually doesn’t fail me, but even though I did manage to catch a couple with it, today it was no match for Louie’s Blue Fox as he put bass,
after bass……………
after bass……………,
11 in all, in the boat. And a Speck to top it off.
It was quite chilly out there this morning. Even this guy was hunkered down, waiting for it to warm up a little before he went to work. He didn’t get Martin Luther King Jr. day off (but he still got to go fishing).
