Got the opportunity to take a client out for some urban run and gun fishing this past Friday, before the cold front moved on in. Ed hadn't fished much in his life, so he was in for a treat fishing with me at some of my "honey holes". We started at a local fresh water snook spot, where Ed quickly had two hits. Sadly, he missed both. Luckily third time was the charm, because on his third bite, he landed his very first snook (23 inches).
After taking a few pics, we released the fish, re-tied, and dropped more lines in the water. Not 5 minutes later, Ed looks at me and says, "Well, you got me my first snook, how bout you get me my first peacock?" Without thinking twice, we loaded up the car and headed to another one of my spots. Gave Ed a few instructions, and within 20 seconds on dropping his bait in, he was hooked up with this 5+ lb monster...
With a few hours before the sun set, we continued fishing. After 2 more small peas (2-3lbs), Ed landed another 5 lber to end the afternoon.
All in all, a great afternoon. Ed got to land his very first snook AND peacock bass, and I got to watch a 40 year old man act like he just won the lottery.
For two hours of fishing, we were 2 for 4 on snook and landed 8 peacocks...A great way to start the weekend!
Gotta love it! Florida is just a great place to be. Nice work Reel Deal & Ed!
